Steve Creighton grew up near Warsaw, Indiana. He majored in both Art and
Business at Valparaiso University as an undergraduate and continued his art
education with graduate art courses at Indiana University. His oil
paintings have won numerous awards including multiple Best of Show
distinctions.
Creighton’s paintings are held by collectors throughout the country. He is
a member of Oil Painters of America, Hoosier Salon and several Indiana Art
Guilds and Associations. His studio is in Warsaw where he lives with his
wife, Sue.

Painting requires a concept…an underlying abstract idea…and a plan
for solving
problems of light, value, edges, form and color. It requires the artist
to select…not to copy…and to decide what to emphasize and what to diminish
or eliminate. Say what needs to be said and leave the rest to the viewer’s
imagination.
