Lakeland Scholarship, March 2022

LAA is also committed to encouraging the next generation of artists and art enthusiasts by promoting and supporting visual arts in education. In support of this goal, Lakeland holds a Scholarship Competition each year to award funds to one or more high school seniors who will be continuing their education in Visual Arts at a college level.
Lakeland Art Association congratulates the 2022 Scholarship Award Recipient, Jessica Dingess. Jessica resides in Servia, IN with her parents, Wallace and Melody Dingess. She currently takes art classes at Manchester Jr./Sr Highschool, with art teacher, Hannah Burnworth. Jessica will be attending Huntington College next year, and plans to have a career in Art Education. The works shown here, with Jessica, were submitted for consideration in the scholarship competition, including pieces in a variety of mediums, Sculpture, Mixed, Painting, and Drawing.
This year’s scholarship judge was the long-time Warsaw resident and award winning artist, Steve Creighton. LAA appreciates the time Mr. Creighton devoted to judging the scholarship competition, and his many helpful comments and advice provided for Jessica. LAA wishes Jessica the best of luck in her college career, and her future endeavors as an artist.
